Charles F. Dolan School of Business Building

New Dolan School dean will kick off the annual Dean's Executive Forum with a panel discussion on #MeToo in the workplace.

The #MeToo movement continues to dominate the headlines, while dramatically altering the environment of the workplace. On Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 7 p.m., the Dolan School's new dean, Zhan Li, DBA, will kick off the Dean’s Executive Forum and will explore this pressing issue and its ramifications with a panel discussion entitled, “#MeToo and Changing Dynamics in the Workforce,” taking place at the Dolan School of Business Dining Room.

A panel of speakers will address the topics of the #MeToo movement and the workplace environment in regards to its legal implications, human resources, and executive management. The diverse backgrounds of the panelists will facilitate a broad review of the subject. They will include an array of business leaders who have worked for top corporations and who are experienced in such matters as labor law, talent management, effective work environments, and business ethics.

The panel will be moderated by Dolan professor Lisa A. Mainiero, PhD. Dr. Mainiero's research includes the study of kaleidoscope careers (the KCM), the intersection between workplace romance and sexual harassment, executive women, power and political strategies, and men's and women's new career paths. Dr. Mainiero, the author of, The Opt-Out Revolt: Why People Are Leaving Companies to Create Kaleidoscope Careers is a sought after lecturer and consultant with appearances on Good Morning America, the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN's Business News and numerous other radio, talk show, and television programs.

The panel includes:

Simon Fenner, Managing Director, Lukoil Pan Americas, LLC. Fenner has more than 30 years experience trading and managing businesses in the energy space in Europe and the U.S. During his time at BP and later with Morgan Stanley, he managed both traditional physical and derivatives trading and structuring businesses. He is on the board of Cheshire Academy, and is active with several local charitable organizations.

Rachel Lieberman, Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel, Labor, Employment and Benefits, Synchrony Financial. Lieberman previously held the position of Executive Counsel of Labor and Employment Law at GE Capital. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, she is a board member of Family & Children’s Agency in Norwalk and Ridgefield A Better Chance.

Patricia M. Nazemetz, Principal, NAZ DEC. Nazemetz is a talent management consultant specializing in executive succession strategies and the design of effective executive transitions. Prior to establishing NAZ DEC, a talent consultancy, she was Chief Human Resource and Ethics Officer for Xerox Corporation. Nazemetz currently serves on several boards, including Sterling Bancorp. She is a graduate of Fordham University.

The event is one of many that the Dolan School of Business hosts throughout the academic year featuring business leaders from an array of industries sharing their experiences with students. One of the Dolan School’s learning goals is to develop future business leaders who are able to identify, respond to, and provide solutions for both ethical and legal dilemmas, with an understanding of the social responsibility of business.

The Dean's Executive Forum is free and open to the public. Students can register through OrgSync. All others can email Eve Liptak at jillian.liptak@fairfield.edu to reserve a spot.
